In Loving Memory Of

Garold E. Pethtel, 77, of Hundred, WV died Thursday, March 25, 2004 at his residence.

He was born March 14, 1927 at Hundred a son of the late Jacob Lee Pethtel and Anna Marie Poland Pethtel.

Mr. Pethtel was a retired funeral director and embalmer. He served as manager of the Hunt Funeral Home in Hundred for many years. He started his funeral service career in 1952 with the late Garrett Hunt in Burton. Later the Hunt Funeral Home was opened in Hundred and he worked there until his health no longer permitted. He worked at the Hunt Funeral Home under the ownership of Garrett and Madge Hunt and Robert W. & Jean Kent. He was currently working on a part time basis with the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred.
He was a member of the Hundred United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Hundred High School, attended Fairmont State College, and was a 1952 Graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science where he served as president of his class.

Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Eva Pethtel of New Martinsville; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jo and Harold Garrison of West Salem, Ohio; niece and nephews, Lisa Garrison of Wooster, Ohio, Mark and Nancy Ashcraft and David L. & Mary Ann Pethtel, all of Hundred, Larry and Donna Pethtel of St Albans, Dr. Brad and Jane Garrison of West Salem, Ohio, and Brian and Ann Garrison of Tiffin, Ohio; great nieces and nephews, Shannon Garrison, Spencer Garrison, Erin Garrison, Kyle Garrison, Kaitlyn Garrison, Kevin Pethtel, Eric Pethtel, Rachel Ashcraft, Taylor Ashcraft, and Hillary Pethtel.

Garold was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harry Neal Pethtel and Forrest L. Pethtel, and one sister Aldine L Ashcraft.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Monday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.
