VIOLET STROSNIDER

Violet Marie Powell Strosnider, formerly of Waynesburg, PA passed away January 19, 2006. She was born October 5, 1911 in Wrights Run and was a daughter of the late James and Margaret Powell.

She is survived by her son and his wife, James M and Barbara Strosnider of Florissant, Missouri; three grandchildren, Rayvena Thompson, Paul Strosnider and Jamieson Banman; four great-grandchildren: Ethan and Suzanna Thompson and Rhett and Reese Banman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Brown Strosnider; five sisters, Grace Wells, Lillian Calvert, Cecil Lance, Opal Johnston, Pearl Garee and one brother, George W. Powell.

She was a beloved school teacher in Greene County School District for 35 years.

The family will receive friends at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2:00 PM Monday, conducted by the Revs. Paul Strosnider and Ryan Banman. Burial will follow in the Blacksville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ephraim Baptist Church for the Deaf, 35 Mercury Drive, Florissant, MO 63031.
