LESLIE GERTRUDE SMITH

Leslie Gertrude Smith, 81, of Fairmont, WV died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 in the Wishing Well Health Care Center in Fairmont.

She was born September 27, 1925 near Hundred, a daughter of the late Oliver Perry Ross and Della Pearl Taylor Ross.

Gertrude was a waitress and worked at many different restaurants in the Fairmont area and she was a methodist by faith.

Surviving are two sons, Wilbur Smith and Clarence Smith, both of Fairmont; three daughters, Debra Furbee of Fairmont, Mary Merashoff of Farmington, and Ginger Price of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Megan, Ricky, Beverly, and Patrick, and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion of many years, Junior Furbee who died in 1971; one brother, Wilbur Ross, and four sisters, Elsie Medley, Margaret Merriner, Josephine Sine, and Thelma Sine.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 11:00 AM Friday until the service hour at 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday with the Pastor Tim Brower officiating.
