RAY METZ

Ray Allen Metz, 65, of Hundred, WV died Saturday, September 19, 2009 in the Golden Living Center in Morgantown.

He was born October 20, 1943 at Earnshaw, WV, a son of the late William E. Metz and Anna B. Myers Metz.

Mr. Metz was a retired steel worker. He retired as a foreman in the prep coke plant.

Ray was a veteran having served with the United States Army.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Wilson Metz; three sons and their spouses, Ray and Ellen Metz of Bellaire, Ohio, Tommy and Shelly Metz of Barnesville, Ohio, and Brian and Georgia Metz of Daybrook; three brothers, Leonard "Pete" Metz of Morgantown, Robert Metz, of Tennessee, and Jack Metz of Morgantown; two sisters, Helen Patterson of Burton and Betty Cumberlidge of Hundred; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cecil Metz; and four brothers, William Metz, David Metz, Charles Metz, and Albert Metz.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Tuesday with the Rev. Charlene Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Yost Cemetery near Hundred.
