In Loving Memory Of

VAUGHN TENNANT

 

Claire Vaughn Tennant, 78, of Daybrook died Sunday, July 4, 2010 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown surrounded by his

loving family.  Mr. Tennant was born September 8, 1931 at Daybrook, a son of the

late Willie Dice Tennant and Sarah Wilson Tennant.  Vaughn was retired from the Monongalia County Board of Education

following 36 years of service. He was a loving and proud husband, father, grandfather, and

great-grandfather. He was very supportive of his children and  grandchildren in all of their activities and accomplishments.

Vaughn is survived by his wife, Edythe Wells Tennant. On June 9, they had celebrated their 59th year of marriage. Also surviving are his

two daughters and sons-in-law, Twyla and Ed McCabe of MacDale and  Marla and Kevin Ammons of Fairview; one brother and sister-in-law,

Fayne and Mary Sue Tennant of Daybrook; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Neva Carol and Delbert Willard of North Ridgeville,

OH and Mona Rae and Glenn Tennant of Jakes Run; four grandchildren and their spouses, Erin and Chad Henkins, Clint and Melissa McCabe,

Chris and Keira McCabe, and Jason and Brandi Ammons; five great-grandchildren, Dylan Henkins, Chase Henkins, Maddox McCabe,

Manning McCabe, and Josalyn Ammons; aunts and uncles, Sarah Irene Anderson and Denzil and Jean Wilson of Fairview; sisters-in-law and

spouses, Eleanor Drews, Patricia and J. D. Marshall, and Elizabeth and Carl McCue; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, 

he was preceded in death by a sister, Vimba Joyce Tennant, who died as an infant, sister-in-law, Ruth

Firkalys, and brother-in-law, Eugene Drews.  Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from

6-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with the Pastor Freddie Eddy II officiating.
