In Loving Memory Of JAMES
S THOMAS II James
S. Thomas II, 80, of Jakes Run, WV died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his
residence. He
was born March 23, 1929 at Fairmont, WV, a son of the late James S. Thomas and
Marquerite Menear Thomas. Jim
was a retired coal miner and was retired from the Loveridge Mine in Fairview. He
retired as a maintenance foreman with 20 years of service. He
was a member of the Jakes Run Assembly of God. Mr.
Thomas served in both the United States Army and United States Navy. He was in
the 101st Airborne Division and was in the Paratroops during the Korean War. Jimmy
enjoyed riding his 4 wheeler with Colten on the farm, gardening, and spending
time with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Surviving
are one son and daughter-in-law, James S. Thomas III and his wife Sonya of Jakes
Run; and two grandsons, Colten C. Thomas and Dereck Miller. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Tennant
Thomas. Friends
may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 6-8 PM
Monday. Funeral services will be held in the Jakes Run Assembly of God Church at
11:00 AM Tuesday with the Pastor Rob Bennett officiating. Interment will follow
in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress. You
