CAROL RUTH PARKER

          Carol Ruth Parker, 89, of Valparaiso, Indiana died Saturday, January 20, 2024 in the Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia.

          She was born October 27, 1934 at Blacksville, WV, a daughter of the late Arthur Cummins and Alice Minor Cummins.

          Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Monie Carl “Bill” Parker.

          Surviving are two children and their spouses, Monie Owen Parker and his wife Kim of Quitman, Arkansas and Mary Elizabeth Koontz and her husband Brent of Appomattox, Virginia; brothers, James Cummins and his wife Nancy of Jakes Run, Joseph Cummins of Morgantown, John Cummins of Hendersonville, North Carolina; four grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

          Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville, WV from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Rob Bennett officiating.  Interment will follow in the Eddy Chapel Cemetery. 

          A luncheon will follow at the Jakes Run Assembly of God.
