DAVID N. HOWARD

          David N. Howard of Fairview, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday April 12, 2021.

          He was born on September 13, 1946 in Blacksville, WV, the son of the late Jesse D. and Lillian Kuhn Howard.  David was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School class of 1965.  He also served his country in the United States Army from February 9, 1966 till February 7, 1969.

          David married his high school sweetheart Willa R. McCord on December 21, 1965 at the Union Baptist Church of Crossroads.

          David was an active member of the Highland Church in Wadestown.  He was retired from US Steel and West Virginia University.

          David and Willa have five children:  Debra Diane Howard Dyer of Fairview, Ricky Gene and Deanna Howard of Charlotte, NC, Sherman Garrison (Garrett) and Michele Howard of Smithfield, PA, Michael Fenton and Marrisa Howard of Farmington AR, Kerry Lee and Leiann Howard of Fairview, David and Willa have eleven grandchildren:  David and Lisa Dyer, Daniel and Aimee Dyer, Nicole and Steve Stiltner, Cassandra Howard and Wane Moeller, Travis Howard, Ashlynn Howard,  Skylar Howard, Kelly and Vina Poitevint, JC Marie and Julius Washington, Kara Nickelson and Tommy Patterson, Brandon Nickelson; and they were blessed with twelve great-grandchildren.

          Also surviving are one sister, Sandra Lynn Porter of Rivesville, WV, one brother, Donald Ralph Howard of Crossroads; and several nieces and nephews.

          David was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lillian Kuhn Howard, grandparents, Sherman and Esta Cross Howard, grandparents, Harry and Lucy Davis Kuhn, and a brother-in-law, James Porter.

          Family and friends will be welcome for viewing and services at the Grace Fellowship Church in Wana.  Viewing will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM with the services to follow.  Pastors David Spears, Pastor Steve Edwards and Sherman (Garrett) Howard will officiate.

          Burial will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.

          The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville is in charge of arrangements.
