Dr. Joe (J.B.) Jolliffe, 84, of Kingwood, WV passed away at his home place in Knob Fork, WV on March 25, 2013.
J. B. was born March 29, 1928, the son of the late Glenn Amos Jolliffe and Martha Rocovich Jolliffe.
After completing his primary and secondary education in Wetzel County, WV, he attended West Virginia University and later, Oklahoma State University School of Veterinary Medicine from which he received his degree in 1958.
He worked as a practicing veterinarian in Preston County West Virginia for 54 years. For the past 25 years, J. B. operated Jolliffe Nursery in Knob Fork, WV, a farm established by his great-grandfather in 1874 and a Christmas tree farm since 1949.
J. B. is survived by his wife Ann Jolliffe, three daughters and their spouses, Patricia and Mark Bennett, Nancy Jolliffe and Robert Schlegel CAPT USN (RET), and Mary and Steve Henry as well as three grandsons, Nicholas, Samuel, and Benjamin Bennett. He is also survived by his aunt, Dorothy Krekel, MAJ USA (RET) and his sister Betty Jean Fourney.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV from 5-8 PM Friday March 29. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 30. Burial will follow in the Glover Cemetery in Knob Fork.
