LILLIAN JESSIE STONEKING

Lillian Jessie Stoneking (nee Park) was born to Mire Lons Park and Lydia Ellen Park (nee Willey) on January 1, 1930.  She was the 6th in the succession of 7 children.  She was often fond of saying she married her husband, John Lee Stoneking, because he looked like he was leaving the small holler where she was raised.  Lillian was a spitfire and her 93 years, 11 months, and 28 days on this earth did not douse her flame.  She was strong and fierce.  She was always ready to help a fellow in need.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Danny Mire Stoneking, her husband, John Lee Stoneking, her brothers, Leroy Lons Park, Dudley Earl Park, and Lewis Jackson Parks, her sisters, Margaret Gail Cather and Rebecca Estelle Phillips, and her son-in-law, George Willard Blair.

She is survived by her brother, George Donald Park.  She leaves behind her daughter, Glenda Joyce Hicks and her son-in-law, William David Hicks, her daughter Cleta Lynn Blair, and her son, Michael Lee Stoneking.

Her grandchildren, William Michael & Jesse Amanda Hicks, Steven Willard & Carolyn Lucinda Blair, Heather Nicole and Colby Aaron Taylor, Michael Shane Stoneking, and Rebecca Danielle & Brian Joseph Smith, will feel her absence, but carry her in their memories.

Her great-grandchildren, Dustin Lee Blair and Candice Dawn Tingler, Katelyn Nicole Blair and Timothy Charles Myers, Sierra Brooke and John Joseph Erline, Taylor Nicole Hicks and Roman Scott Ferrell, Alexis Paige Taylor, Brie’ Anna Hope Taylor, Caylee Faith Taylor, William Russell Hicks, Catherine Louise Hicks, Grace Elizabeth Anderson, and Anthony Tanner Wise, will feel her absence.

Her legacy continues through her two great-grand- children, Brantley William Erline and Benelli Rose Erline, as well as countless nieces, nephews, and all the future generations.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2024.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM with her son-in-law, William D. Hicks officiating.  Interment will follow in the Stoneking Cemetery.
