James Michael Hayes, 38, of Independence, WV died Friday, September 8, 2006 at his residence.
He was born January 15, 1968 in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of Margretta May Merrymen Hayes of Waynesburg, PA and the late James Michael Hayes, Sr.
Mike was self employed as a carpenter. He was a protestant by faith. He loved spending time with his two younger children that are still at home and he also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn Smouse Hayes; two sons, James Michael Hayes, V at home and James Michael Hayes, III of Wellsburg, WV; three daughters, Rachael Renea Hayes at home, Lydia Marie Hayes and Penny Sue Hayes, both of Wellsburg, WV; two brothers, Dennis Robert Hayes of Carmichaels, PA and James Woodrow Hayes of Independence; three sisters, Sherry Lynn Waysko of Morgantown, Vicki Lynn Varner of Waynesburg, PA, and Margretta J. Keen of Sutton, WV; two granddaughters, Ri'lynn Hayes and Serenity Casco; three nieces, Charli Hoyle and Hailey Hoyle both of Waynesburg, Kaitlynn Hayes of Carmichaels, PA; three nephews, Kyle Varner of Waynesburg, Dennis Hayes Jr of Carmichaels and Anthony Keen of Sutton.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, James Michael Hayes, IV and a daughter, Ashley Dawn Hayes.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville, WV from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with Pastor Michael David officiating. Interment will follow in the Eakin-Wana Cemetery at Wana, WV.
