Lawrence W. Tennant, 75, of Daybrook, WV died August 2, 2005 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Spraggs, PA.
He was born June 15, 1930 at Blacksville, WV the oldest son of the late Dana and Florence Tennant.
Lawrence was a member of the MacDale Church of Christ in Blacksville, and he was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. He retired in 1993 from Consolidation Coal Company, Blacksville #2 mine. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of American District #31 of Fairmont.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Jo Ann Chisler Tennant, who died on December 22, 2002; and his sister, Mary Tennant.
Surviving are three children and spouses; Vickie and Roy Brewer of Prescott Valley, AZ; Douglas and Frances Tennant and Bryan and Brenda Tennant, all of Daybrook; eight grandchildren, Brandon and Cody Brewer, Tracy, Travis, Trenton, Tanya, Wyatt and Wade Tennant. Two brothers and their spouses, Clarence and Betty Tennant of Westover and Don and Mary Ann Tennant of Core. Four brothers-in-laws and their spouses, Jerry & Peg Chisler of Daybrook, Larry & Sandy Chisler of Mooresville, Rob & Patty Chisler of Wadestown, and Dean and Carolyn Chisler of Daybrook; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Saturday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2:00 PM Sunday. Burial will follow in the Blacksville Cemetery.
