Mattie R. Dixon, 100, a former resident of the Arbors at Fairmont Nursing Facility, formerly of Hundred, died Friday, May 9, 2003 in the Arbors at Fairmont.
Mrs. Dixon was born February 6, 1903 at Burton, WV a daughter of the late David M. and Louvernie (Bloss) Booth.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Harmony Baptist Church of Burton.She was a member of the Hundred Homemakers Club, Hundred Senior Citizens, and the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 Ladies Auxillary.
Surviving are two daughters, Emma Lou Dixon and Sara Pontello both of Michigan; a life long friend, Olive Bartholow of Pine Grove, WV; eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Dixon; a son, James F. Dixon who died on February 2, 2003; one sister and two brothers.She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 7-9 PM Monday.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with the Rev. Warren Martens officiating.Interment will follow in the Harmony Cemetery near Burton.
