Edna May Spragg Freeland, 87, of Orlando, Florida and formerly of Burton, WV died Tuesday,March 4, 2003 in the Florida Hospital East in Orlando, FL.

She was born in Littleton, WV on March 20, 1915 a daughter of the late Jerry and Gertrude Spragg.

She and her late husband, Mearl C. Freeland, resided in Burton, WV for 55 years before moving to Orlando in 1987.While in West Virginia she was active in the Rebecca Lodge and the womens group at the Harmony Baptist Church in Burton, where she was a lifetime member.

Surviving are one daughter, Donna Fay Smith; grandchildren, Greg and Ruth Ellen Smith and Eric Smith; great grandchildren, Jessica Fay and Caleb Walker Smith; all of Orlando, FL; two sisters, Mildred "Midge" Cunningham of Burton, WV and Wilma Yeager of Paden City, WV.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mearl C. Freeland, who died on October 20, 1999; two brothers, Harry Spragg and Denzil Spragg; and one sister, Genova Bissett McMasters.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 on Saturday, March 15, 2003.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 with the Rev. Warren Martens officiating.Interment will follow in the Harmony Cemetery, Burton, WV.
