Virginia M. Yost, 87, of Parkersburg, WV and formerly of Burton, Hundred and Fairmont died Monday, November 24, 2003 in the Selby General Hospital in Marietta, Ohio.
She was born April 3, 1916 at Glover Gap, WV a daughter of the late Ross Holiday and Minnie Holiday Craig.
Mrs. Yost was a retired rural mail carrier in the Hundred and Burton area for many years.She was also a part time postal clerk in both Hundred and Burton Post Offices.
She was a member of the Glover Gap Baptist Church where she served as the pianistand church treasurer.
Surviving are one son, Howard Yost of Fairmont, WV; a daughter and son-in-law, Edith Church Jones and her husband, Francis Lee Jones of Parkersburg; a half-brother, Ralph Craig of Bedford Heights, OH; three grandchildren, Tina Long of Oklahoma City, OK,Charles Church and Misty Britton both of Parkersburg; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Yost who died in 1981; a sister, Ruth Fonner; and infant grandson; and Maude and Jeff Furbee, an aunt and uncle who raised her.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 7-9 PM Wednesday.In observance of Thanksgiving there will be no visitation on Thursday.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Friday.Interment will follow in the Harmony Cemetery at Burton.
