Evelyn Riter, 80, of Littleton, WV died Sunday, June 23, 2002 in the Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born August 19, 1921 at Glen Easton, WV a daughter of the late Albert Chaplin and Mary Gable Chaplin.
Mrs. Riter was a housewife and a farmer.She was a member of the Wetzel County Farm Bureau and was a Methodist by faith.
Surviving are her husband, Harry Riter; two sons, Terry Riter of Littleton, WV and Harry Riter, Jr. of Akron, OH; one daughter, Violet Rose Menas of Farmington; four brothers, Howard Chaplin of Cameron, Loy Chaplin of Paden City, Arch Chaplin of California and Delbert Chaplin of Florida; five sisters, Edith Postlewait and Almeda Leichter both of Cameron, Marlene Demarco of New Jersey, Aldine Komorowki of Moundsville and Alberta Cheon of Florida; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dane Chaplin and Frank Chaplin.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV from 2-9 PM Wednesday.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday with the Rev. Joyce Anderson officiating.Interment will follow in the Shriver Cemetery near Hundred.
