Lester D. Steele, 75, of Hundred, WV died Saturday, September 8, 2001 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Mr. Steele was born February 27, 1926 at Bula, WV a son of the late Homer Russell and Augusta Toothman Steele.
Mr. Steele was a retired barber.He operated Les's Barber Shop in Hundred for more than 40 years.Mr. Steele was a graduate of Clay Battelle High School and Wheeling Barber College.
He was a Methodist by faith and a United States Army Veteran who served as a medic during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Lucy M. Fairfax Steele; two daughters and son-in-law, Tempa Steele of Hundred and Deanna and Neil Raper of Boyce, Virginia; one sister, Carol L. Steele of Hundred; two grandsons, Jarrod and Matthew Raper.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Homer R. Steele, Jr..
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV from 5:00 to 9:00 PM Sunday.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Monday with the Rev. Samuel K. Hibbs, Jr. officiating.Interment will follow in the Harmony Cemetery, Burton.
