Stacy Roberts, 93, of Rt. 1, Metz, WV (Earnshaw Community) died Saturday, June 2, 2001 in the New Martinsville Health Care Center.
He was born April 8, 1908 near Hundred the son of the late John Roberts and Catherine Barr Roberts.
Mr. Roberts was a farmer and he attended the Earnshaw Church of Christ.He was a United States Army veteran who served in World War II and was wounded while serving in Europe.
Surviving are one sister, Bessie Gayle Cosgray of Burton, WV; a step-daughter, Kathleen Skinner, of Morgantown, WV; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; step-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal K. Roberts; three brothers, Arvel Roberts, Walter Roberts and Odis Roberts; five sisters, Amy Cosgray, Lizzie Kirkpatrick, Hazel Roberts, Doshia Cox and Mabel Rush.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV from 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 AM Monday with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating.Interment will follow in the Shriver Cemetery, near Hundred.
