Nancy Louise Tennant, 82, of Hundred, WV died Monday, May 12, 2014 in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a massive stroke which she had May 8, 2014.
She was born December 20, 1931 at Philippi, WV, a daughter of the late Selley S. Palmer and Hattie Lee Mays Palmer.
Louise was a homemaker. When her health permitted she loved to play bingo. However, in recent years she has suffered from many medical problems that kept her confined to her home.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Leon Merl "P. I." Tennant; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and James Knisely of Mannington; three sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Lee and Susie Tennant of Hundred, Donald Merl and Jeanie Tennant of Daybrook, and Roger Tennant of Hundred; one sister, Myrel Jean Levelle of Mannington; five grandchildren, Amy Jo Fluharty and her husband Craig of Hundred, Michael Shawn Knisely and his wife Jennifer of Lewisburg, April Horne and her fiance' Ryan Davis of Morgantown, Brandy Merl Tennant and his wife Heather of Proctor, and John R. King Jr. (Jay) and wife Julia of Rachel; and Joshua Clay Cecil, whom Louise and Merl thought of as a grandson; thirteen great-grandchildren, Skylar Knisely, Olivia Knisely, Tessa Knisely, Danielle Fluharty, Amber Fluharty, Ryan Fluharty, Brooke Tennant, Ashley Tennant, Devon Tennant, Dylan Tennant, Alexander Horne, Johnathan King and Samuel King; two step-great-grandchildren, Abby Brown and Seth Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Tennant and Margaret Inghram.
The family would like to give a "Special Thank You" to Sandy Poe who has worked for the family for more than six years caring for Louise and Merl. They would also like to thank Kim McDiffitt and DeDe McDiffitt for the care and compassion shown to Merl and Louise during their illnesses.
We would also like to give a special "Thank You" to the staff of 9East at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. All of the staff were absolutely wonderful in every way. Also, a very special thank you to Jerry Yoho a Director of Nursing for all of his assistance.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 6-9 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Luke Cemetery at Mooresville.
