Pemperton L. Cecil, 85, of Wileyville, was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom on February l, 2013 at UPMC Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Mr. Cecil was born April 9, 1927 at what is now the Huggins farm in Wileyville, son of the late Thomas R. Cecil Sr and Ora Arminta Palmer Cecil.
He served as an elder in the Church of Christ at Wileyville for over 50 years. Pemperton was a retired employee of Pennzoil and he and his wife founded Cecil Kraft Shop in 1962. They represented West Virginia with their folk toys at several festivals including three summers in Washington, DC by special invitation of Sears, the Smithsonian Institution and the President for participation at the President's Park. He was also a WV 4-H All Star. He made numerous hooked rugs for friends and family and he was proud that one of them had been sent to India.
Pemperton served his country proudly in the US Army in the 4th Armored Division and as a sergeant in the 53rd Constabulary Squadron. He was a member of the American Legion Post 28 of New Martinsville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nova Lee Postlethwait Cecil; three brothers, William Cecil, Frank Cecil and Thomas Cecil, Jr, and a sister, Anna Gaynelle Holt.
Surviving are a son, Jerry (Judy) Cecil and a daughter, Armina (Jack) Crihfield all of Wileyville; sisters, Helen Wilson and Lucy (Dick) Phillips, both of Wileyville, Pauline (Mike) Strutz, Oakes, ND, and Ruthie Wamsley of Hundred; three grandchildren, Serena (Jeremy) Huggins, Wileyville, Barbara Cecil, Paden City, and Kriss (Courtney) Cecil-Crihfield of Fairmont; four great-grandchildren, Mercedez Goff, Katlyn Huggins, Ashton Cecil, and Tarynn Cecil; many nieces and nephews and also special friends Harley Barr and Mark Burkheimer.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Wileyville Church of Christ with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the Wileyville Cemetery.
