Steadman Encil Woodruff, 84, a resident of the Tygart Center in Fairmont, formerly of the Crossroads Community near Wadestown, died Friday, July 27, 2012 in the Tygart Center.
He was born April 6, 1928 at Hundred, WV, a son of the late John C. Woodruff and Olive Pearl Garner Woodruff.
Encil was a retired employee of Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company in Fairmont. He was well known for being an excellent glass cutter and installer. He was a 1945 graduate of Hundred High School.
Mr. Woodruff was a member of the Oakhurst Church of Christ in Farmington. He was also a member of the Monongalia County Farm Bureau. Encil was a United States Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are ten nieces and nephews, Jerry L. Yost, Roger Yost, Gene D. Yost, Larry Yost, Gary Yost, Eilene Kucera, Mary Miller, Richard Tennant, Janet Shriver, and Judy Ammons.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, Mary Jane Tennant Woodruff, who died on March 16, 2010 and whom he married on June 28, 1959; and one brother, Russell Woodruff.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 6-8 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Tennant Cemetery at Pentress.
