Larry R. Thomas, 61, of Wana, WV died Thursday, September 27, 2012 in the Mapleshire Nursing and Rehab Center in Morgantown.
He was born December 4, 1950 at Pursglove, a son of the late Johnnie O. Thomas and Eva Reeves Thomas McCoy.
Mr. Thomas was a former coal miner. He also worked for GMS Mine Service around the coal mines.
Larry was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Hixenbaugh Thomas; three sons, Richard Thomas of Wana, Douglas Thomas of Cameron, and Michael Thomas of Hundred; two daughters, Lisa Rine of Hundred and Barbara Hixenbaugh of Cameron; one brother, Fred Thomas of Bruceton Mills; five sisters, Delphia Varner of Morgantown, Donna Foley of Wadestown, Helen Ammons of Waynesburg, Nancy Highland of Puryear, TN and Jo Ann Todd of Paris, TN; and thirteen grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnnie O. Thomas, Jr.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 6-8 PM Sunday. At the request of the deceased his body will be cremated following the visitation.
