Charles E. Roberts, 88, of Knob Fork, WV died Monday, April 26, 2010 at his residence following a battle with cancer.
He was born April 11, 1922 at Moundsville, WV, a son of the late James H. Roberts and Goldie Glover Roberts.
Charlie was retired from Wheeling Steel Company where he worked for many years. He served in the United States Army Air Corp and formerly attended the Church of Christ.
Surviving are four sons, Thomas Roberts of Hundred, Charles H. Roberts of Gallatin, TN, Robert F. Roberts of New Martinsville, and Larry D. Roberts of Littleton; one daughter, Gail Darlene Stewart of Fredericksburg, VA; two sisters, Evelyn Hall and Betty Brown, both of St. Marys; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gail Roberts who died on October 4, 2000, and two brothers, John E. Roberts and a brother who died as an infant.
Friends will be received at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 6-8 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 AM Friday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.
