Alberta Louise Moore Kennedy, 79, of Morgantown, formerly of Wadestown died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.

She was born October 31, 1929 at Jakes Run, WV, a daughter of the late Francis Marion and Audie Mae Eddy Moore, and she was raised by the late Lonnie R. and Wilma D. Hillberry.

Alberta was a member of the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church in Wadestown. She was a loving and caring person all of her life, an exceptional wife and mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose passing will leave an emptiness that none here can fill.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James P. Kennedy; and five daughters and their spouses; Kathy and Frank Martinelli of Carlisle, PA, Sharon Cheslock of Morgantown, Carol and Robert Copeland of Burton, Kim and Jerry Tennant of Morgantown, and Kandy and Randy Earl of Core; eight grandchildren, Aaron & Marnie Martinelli, Lisa Martinelli, Julian and Sara Cheslock, Todd and Neely Copeland, Triston and Angelle Copeland, Tom Tennant, James and Nicole Tennant, Clinton and Amanda Tennant; ten great-grandchildren, Jackson Tennant, Theresa Tennant, Luke Tennant, Catriona Cheslock, Gareth Cheslock, Davin Copeland, Leila Copeland, Lexie Copeland, Zack Copeland, and Noah Copeland; a sister, Jean and Ron Westfall of Washington, PA and a brother Raymond and Dorothy Moore of Detroit, MI.

In addition to her parents and foster parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Burl, Robert, Paul, Rex, Don and Billy; four sisters, Aldine Moore, Vivian Caldwell, Faye Campbell and Betty Lou Moore; a son-in-law, Julian Cheslock and two grandchildren, Tharron and Jill Earl.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 6 to 9:00 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 AM Saturday with the Rev. Rose Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.
