Doris J. Hill, 74, of Whitehall, formerly of Wadestown, WV died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 in the Monongalia General Hospital after a 5 year battle with cancer.
She was born August 22, 1935 in Idamay, WV a daughter of the late Lee H. Patton and Minnie E. King Patton.
Doris was a homemaker and Baptist by faith.
Surviving are one sister, Betty L. King of Wadestown; one brother and his wife, Kenneth & Judy Patton of Garden City, MI; a sister-in-law, Paula Patton of Phoeniz, AZ; also some very special friends and caregivers, Liz, Ron and Bub Jones; and four grandchildren, Mary Parrish, Tammy Pierson, Laura Hardy, and Arthur Hill III, and thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Hill, who died on March 3, 1995; one son, Arthur R. Hill; five brothers, Richard Patton, Edwin Patton, Junior Patton, Robert Patton, and Harold Patton; and one sister, Madeline Patton.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 3-7 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday with the Pastor Steve Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Shriver Cemetery near Hundred.
