Alta B. Sole, 87, of Metz (Earnshaw Community) died Wednesday October 12, 2005 in the Sunbridge Nursing Home in Salem, WV where she had been a resident since December 31, 2004.
She was born August 28, 1918 at Morgansville, WV a daughter of the late George Moore and Minnie Ford Moore.
Mrs. Sole worked in military support during World War II. In her later years she worked at Miss Blue Motel and Restaurant in Hundred. She was a member of the Hundred Church of Christ for over 50 years.
Surviving are one son, James Sole of Clarksburg; one step-son, Melvin Sole of Fairmont; one step-daughter, Betty Fluharty of Fairmont; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Sole, who died on July 7, 1978; two brothers, Harley Moore and Dias Moore who died as an infant; four sisters, Jessie Stutler, Virgie Moore, Peggy DiMinno, and Opal Gains; and two step-children, Marjorie Hanway and Richard Sole.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 6-9 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery at Smithburg.
