Raymond D. Hennen, 77, of Brookside Acres, Shinnston, WV died Friday, September 30, 2005 in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.
He was born February 16, 1928 at Wadestown, WV a son of the late Russell and Virgie Hamilton Hennen.
Raymond was a retired barber. He started his barbering career in Uniontown, PA; later he worked in Mt. Morris, PA; and he retired from his shop in Fairview, WV with over 40 years of service.
He was a member of the Oak Forest United Methodist Church, where he served as a sunday school teacher. He was a United States Air Force veteran who served in the Korean War. He was stationed in Japan during most of his service time.
Raymond was a caring man to his mother, father, and brother Richie. He will always be remembered and admired for his kindness, caring, and help he gave to his family, neighbors, and friends.
Surviving are two sisters, Anna P. Jones of Bridgeport, WV, and Evelyn Hennen of Fairmont; one brother and his wife, Denzil and Bonnie Hennen of Cameron; one niece and her husband, Penny and Jason Burkhart, and their daughter, Hannah of Knoxville, TN; one nephew and his wife, Herbert and Linda Haines of Bridgeport; and great nieces and nephews; Gilford Haines of Bridgeport, Melissa Hutson and her husband Eric and their daughter, Karrie of Bridgeport, WV, and Brian Haines and his wife Mary, and their three sons, Dylan, Brice, and Trent of Bridgeport, WV.
Raymond was admitted to the VA Hospital on April 10, 2005 and remained there until his death. During that time he received numerous cards. The family would like to thank all of those who stopped to visit him or sent him a card.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 4:30 to 9:00 PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Monday with the Pastor Tim Brower officiating. Interment will follow in the Mannington Memorial Park.
