Kenneth R. King, Sr, 77, of Crossroads Road, Wadestown, WV died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born August 15, 1927 at Crossroads, a son of the late Mary Ethel King.
Mr. King was a retired dispatcher for the Eastern Associated Coal Corp. Federal No. 1 mine at Grant Town. He retired with 33 years of service. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of American District #31.
Mr. King was a member of the Union Baptist Church of Crossroads and a United States Army Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Patton King; five sons & spouses, Ron & Jean King of Blacksville, Donnie King of Crossroads, Kenneth R. King Jr of Akron, Ohio, Marion King of Crossroads and David & Jeanie King of Parkersburg; one brother, Richard Donald King of Miracle Run; four grandchildren, Joshua King, Liberty King, Michael King, and Dennis King; and one great-granddaughter, Allison Hope King.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Bobette Gump.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-9 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Friday with the Pastor Steve Edwards and the Rev. David Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery, Wadestown, WV.
