Martin Matthews, 64, of New Martinsville, WV died Tuesday, May 9, 2006 of injuries sustained from being struck by an automobile while riding his bicycle near the Po Boy Restaurant.
He was born July 20, 1941 at Garrison, PA, a son of the late Grant Matthews and Goldie F. Grim Matthews.
Martin formerly attended the Littleton Church of God prior to moving to New Martinsville.
Surviving are one brother, Chester Morgan Mathews of (Roberts Run) Metz, WV; one nephew, Charles L. Matthews of (Roberts Run) Metz, one niece, Janet Riter of Littleton; and five great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Matthews, who died as an infant.
There will be no funeral home visitation. Graveside services will be held on Thurday, May 11, 2006 at 1:30 PM with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the Shriver Cemetery near Hundred.
The casket will remain closed.
