Melvin E. Anderson, Jr., 60, of Hundred, WV died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at his residence.
He was born February 14, 1947 at Glover Gap, WV a son of Katherine Louise Cosgray Anderson of Hundred, WV and the late Melvin E. Anderson.
Junior was a United States Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. He worked railroad construction for many years and later worked as a carpenter doing odd jobs.
He was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred and a protestant by faith. He was a graduate of Hundred High School.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son Brian Anderson of Wind Ridge, PA; one daughter, Angela Phillips of Holbrook, PA; two brothers, Harry Anderson of Glen Burnie, MD and John Anderson of New Martinsville; one sister, Diana Phelps of Hundred; and one granddaughter, Haley Phillips.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 7-9 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery at Grafton.
