ROBERT L. COPELAND

            Robert L. Copeland, 85, of Jakes Run Community, Fairview, WV died Saturday, September 29, 2018.

            He was born June 17, 1933 at Pentress, a son of the late John Maxon Copeland and Laura Dell Tennant Copeland.

            Bob was a retired pipeline welder.  He was a United States Army veteran who served as a paratrooper.  He was a member of Pipefitter Welders Local Union #798.          

            Surviving is his wife, Ileen Matteo; two sons and their spouses, Randolph Copeland and wife Valerie of Dayton, TN and Ronald Copeland of Fort Walton Beach, FL; two daughters and their husbands, Nancy Jane Eddy and husband David of Milton, KY, and Mona J. Caskey and husband Teddy of Farmerville, LA; two brothers, Jimmy Copeland of Fairmont and Danny Copeland of Blacksville; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

            In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betta Jane Cummins Copeland; one son, Robert L. Copeland, Jr.; three brothers, Raymond Copeland, Enoch C. Copeland, and John M. Copeland, Jr.; and one sister, Ruby
Simpson.

            Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with Randolph Copeland officiating.  Interment will follow in the Blacksville Cemetery.
