Condolences
Mary was a loving, giving, cheerful, positive and overall wonderful person. To know her was to love her. I had known her "forever," having grown up in Garrison." I had been to see her just last month. The Stalnaker family was legendary for their hospitality and kindness in the community. I am sure that Mary Elizabeth (as I called her) was a good and caring hospital nurse. She was one of only a couple persons in her community that kept me updated on events and community persons. Her nephew, Michael, was her faithful care taker for many years, and I am sure that he will miss her greatly; in a sense Mary was his mother. Her brother, Roger, is a community one-person "rescue squad" who attended to her overall daily needs and to that of others "without wheels." I would ask "what better Christian service is that?" Mary was a close relative of Dr. Earl L. Core, former mayor of Morgantown, and world-famous botanist at West Virginia University whom I knew well when I was in school there. Mary leaves a wonderful memory for all of us who knew her, and I shall miss her when I go back to my country roots. May she rest in peace at Doll's Run Cemetery where many of her family members lie. Mary -- you are gone, but shall never be forgotten. We love you.
Mary was indeed a loving and caring person and we send our sincere condolences to her family. We shared many happy times with Mary and Dutch a lot years ago in California. She will always be fondly remembered . Bert and Betty Frederick, cousins of Louise Robinson
Mary could always be counted on for a lovely smile, and a word of kindness. She will be greatly missed.
Larry and family, I am so sorry to hear of your sisters passing. The few times that I remember see Mary she was with you and I always love to hear you speak of her. May God be with you and your family during this time of grief. Love, Goldie Snider Adcox
you could always count on Mary for a great smile and nice visit. Thank you for your service. You will be missed by all who knew and loved you.
Sending our deepest sympathy. Mary will be greatly missed. Remembering you in thought and prayer.
My favorite cousin -- shall miss her forever. She was always so sweet and welcoming, and a beautiful person.
I met Mary several years ago sitting on her porch. A complete stranger, my Aunt and I approached her to ask about our ancestors you had lived on Garrison Ridge Road. As it could only happen in Garrison, we discovered she had cared for Patrick Taylor, our Grandfather and Great-Grandfather at the end of his life! She invited us to dinner the following night and the rest is history. My Aunt and I made biannual visits to see Mary and we also kept in touch by phone. She was the most caring and sweet person I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Our best to Roger, Larry and Michael. We still miss her and always will.
