MARY R. SOLE

            Mary Rose Sole, 82, of Hundred, died Friday, October 5, 2018 in her daughter’s home in Roanoke, Virginia surrounded by her family and friends.

            She was born September 14, 1936 in Hundred, a daughter of the late Harry Ray Cosgray and Bessie Gayle Roberts Cosgray.

            Surviving are her two daughters and their spouses, Penny Sole & Shawn Collins of Roanoke, Virginia and LeAnn and Charles Harris of Damariscotta, Maine; two brothers, Dave Cosgray and Ron Cosgray both of Metz; one sister, Marlene Shuman of Burton; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

            Mary was preceded in death by her husband Flavil Sole, who died in November of 2016.  Also preceding her in death were her parents and her older brother Bob Cosgray.

            She was a wonderful person that everyone was honored to call mom, grandma, aunt, sister, and most affectionately, friend.  She enjoyed helping others and would often volunteer her time to many organizations in order to raise money or provide services to those in need.  What she loved the most was baking and sharing her hot rolls and treats with all that would have them.  She grew up in Hundred and raised her family here.  She loved this town and touched many people in it.  Her strength, kindness, patience and positive attitude toward life was inspiring to all that knew her.  She will be missed.

            Friends and family are welcome to join the family for a celebration of life for Mary and Flavil Sole at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, Saturday, November 17, 2018.  Visitation begins at 12:00 Noon and the service will begin at 1:00.  Bring memories and stories to share about two wonderful people who meant so much to their family, friends, and community.
