RONALD L. KOONTZ
Ronald Leroy Koontz, 74, of Hundred, WV died Monday, September 2, 2019 at his residence.
He was born August 12, 1945 at Sistersville, WV, a son of the late Ernest L. Koontz and Laura Moore Koontz.
Ron was a retired Sprinkler Fitter and a member of Local 669. He had worked in the sprinkler and fire protection industry from 1966 until retiring in 1999. He had worked for Brewer & Company.
Mr. Koontz was a member of the Hundred Church of Christ where he had served as the church treasurer for approximately 30 years.
Surviving are his wife, Janet C. Allison Koontz; four daughters and their husbands, Cyndi & Steve Blair of Hundred, Ronda & Todd McDiffitt of Hundred, Kathi & Roger Barr of Mobley, and Janet & Roger Phillips of New Freeport, PA; a nephew and a niece that Ron & Jan raised that they treated just like children, Jeremiah & Chrystal Allison of New Freeport PA and Melissa & Roy Hawkins of Hundred; one brother, Edward Koontz of Burton; four sister-in-laws and their husbands, Ruth Koontz of Littleton, Diane Hostutler his “Sister Wife” of Hundred, Lorna & Jim Briggs of New Martinsville, and Pat Oliver & Wayne of Aurora, Indiana; sixteen grandchildren, Dustin, Katelyn, Logan, Raven, Krista, Dani, Laura “Moon”, Amie, Joey, Kirsti, Beth, Miranda, Allie, Torie, Lane, & Crew; 9 great-grandchildren, Raegan, Teagan, Ellie, Charlie, Zoey, Waylan, Karleigh, Aurora, Scarlett, and Juniper who is due to be born in October; his beloved dog, Chevy; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Koontz; brother-in-law, Chester Hostutler; and sister-in-law, Nelda Koontz.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 1-3 & 6-9 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 AM Thursday with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Yost Cemetery near Hundred.

Love and prayers to all. Ron was a very unique and outstanding man, a rare jewel. He brightened any day with his presence. His smile was contagious and had a wit second to none. Anyone that knew him, would agree. I’ll always cherish all the time I got to spend with him ... the laughs and tears. Im content knowing he is smiling down from heaven with his best bud by his side. Blessed to have known him my entire life, the memories will live in my heart forever. I love you Ron. Fly high with the angels and continue to spread your sunshine.
Dear Friend, was so sorry to learn about the passing of Ron. I know he is resting in the arms of the angels. He was a fine man, husband and father, he will be surely missed by one and all. All my love and prayers go up for you and the family.
