on JOHN OWEN HARKER

            John Owen “J. O.” Harker, 58, of Hundred, WV died Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at his residence.

            He was born February 12, 1961 at Morgantown, a son of Patricia Cosgray Spangler of Hundred and the late Glenn Owen Harker.

            J. O. worked as a CNA.  Most of the time he had done private duty care.

            He was very actively involved with showing and breeding of Morgan Horses.  He was a member of the American Morgan Horse Association, the Inter County Morgan Horse Association, the Greene County Horseman’s Association, and the Wetzel County Farm Bureau.

            In addition to his mother he is survived by an uncle, John R. Statler of Wadestown; a step-sister, Carolyn V. Allison; and cousins, Melvin and Sue Fluharty, Chris Fluharty, Craig Fluharty, David Bohse, and Elizabeth Getz.

            He was preceded in death by his father, his paternal grandparents, Arthur & Rose Harker; his maternal grandparents, Pat & Mary Cosgray; and two aunts, Helen H. “Dolly” or “Granny” Statler and Charlotte Bohse.

            At the request of the deceased his body will be cremated.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 1:00 in the Tennant Funeral Home.

            The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred is in charge of arrangements.

Pat, I was gone to MO to visit my older daughter last week, and I just heard about J.O. today. I am so very sorry!! He was a good, kind man, and certainly helped out with Mom and Dad so much! My heart breaks for your loss. Prayers for you and your family for comfort and peace!!

I am truly in shock! Lost for words! Prayers are going out to you and the family! I know it’s been many many years since I have seen him but I am sure he has been an awesome man especially the field that he chose to work in and the love he had for one of the most awesome creatures that God created! So sorry! Prayers are for comfort and peace! Love you all!
