20LUCY VARNER
Lucy Ellen Varner, 67, of Miracle Run Community, Fairview, WV died Tuesday, January 7, 2020 in J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born May 1, 1952 at Daybrook, a daughter of the late William Luther McCoy and Florence Foley McCoy.
Lucy formerly worked at McDonalds as a cook and at a truck stop as a dish washer.
Surviving are one son, Richard Lee McCoy of Miracle Run; two step-sons, John Varner of Morgantown and Justin Varner of Fairmont; one step-daughter, Crystal Eddy of Days Run; two brothers, George McCoy of Daybrook and Nimrod McCoy of Days Run; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Varner; five sisters, Edna Carpenter, Nancy McCoy, Florence McCoy, Anna Pearl McCoy, and Mary D. Tennant; four brothers, Tom McCoy, Dennis McCoy, Henry McCoy, and Earl McCoy; and two step-sons.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 6-8 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday with Rev. Freddie Eddy, II officiating. Interment will follow in the McCoy Cemetery at Daybrook.
