LEONARD RAY OATES

          Leonard Ray Oates, 84, of Littleton, WV died Wednesday, March 11, 2020 in the Cameron Continuous Care Center in Cameron, WV.

          He was born June 24, 1935 at Fairmont, a son of the late John Paul Oates and Lois Dare Robinson Oates.

          Mr. Oates was retired from Mobay Chemical Company in New Martinsville.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.

          Surviving are two sons and their spouses, Leonard R. Oates, Jr. and his wife Christina of New Martinsville and Paul Oates and his wife Vicki of Grafton; two foster sons, Earl and Neal Daughterty; six grandchildren, Eric Oates, Brandon Oates, Paige Oates, Josh Oates, Connor Oates and April Fluharty; and several great-grandchildren.

          In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Mae Oates who died on October 18, 2019; one son, Robert Oates; and one sister, Mary E. Henthorn.

          Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 6-8 PM Friday.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday with Paul Oates officiating.  Interment will follow in the Thomas Cemetery, Ned, PA.
