GEORGE W. BLAIR

          George W. Blair, 72, of Teagarden Fork Community, Metz, WV died Friday, September 11, 2020 at his residence.

          He was born May 27, 1948 at Bluefield, WV, a son of the late Willard Blair and Myrtle Marie Herald Blair.

          Mr. Blair formerly worked as a crane operator in the shipyards of Baltimore, MD.  He was a United States Army Veteran. 

          George was a member of the Littleton Lodge #131 AF & AM of Hundred where he had served as a Past Master, Electic Lodge #67, IOOF, Farmington, WV, and Scottish Rite of Free Masonry of Wheeling.  He was a Methodist by faith.

          Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Cleta Lynn Stoneking Blair, whom he married on January 18, 1969; one son and his wife, Steven Blair and his wife Cindy of Teagarden Fork; one daughter and her husband, Heather Taylor and her husband Colby of Canonsburg, PA; five grandchildren, Dustin Blair (Candy Tingler), Katelyn Blair (Timmy Myers), Alexis Taylor, Brie’Anna Taylor, and CayLee Taylor; mother-in-law, Lillian J. Stoneking of Teagarden Fork; brother-in-law, Michael L. Stoneking of MD; sister-in-law, Glenda J. Hicks and her husband William Hicks of MD; step-mother, Carlean Blair of MD;  several step-sisters and step-brothers and many nieces and nephews and one aunt, Mary Muncy of Peterstown, WV.

          In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard L. Blair; one nephew, Richard Lee Blair, Jr.; a brother-in-law, PFC Danny Mire Stoneking; and his father-in-law, John Lee Stoneking.

          Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Wednesday with Pastor Jason Sleeth officiating.  Interment will follow in the Stoneking Cemetery on Teagarden Fork.
