RUSSELL PIERCE
Russell Leroy Pierce, 71, of New Freeport, PA died Friday, December 11, 2020 at his residence.
He was born August 25, 1949 in Springhill Township, Greene County, PA, a son of the late Thomas F. Pierce and Hulda Warricks Pierce.
Mr. Pierce was a retired laborer and was a member of the Laborer’s Local 1058 out of Pittsburgh, PA. He was a protestant by faith.
Russell loved his family, hunting, and carpentry.
Surviving are his wife, Sue Hunt Pierce; one daughter, Kelly Wickham of New Freeport, PA and son, Nathan (Glenda) Pierce of Spraggs, PA; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Nicholas) Dulaney of New Freeport, PA, Mathew Dulaney, Bentley Dulaney, Cambren Pierce, Gandon Pierce, and Harlan Pierce; and three sisters, Lillie Mae Yoders and June Johnson, both of New Freeport, and Rosa Lee Trump of Cleveland, Ohio.
In addition to the parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings, James Pierce, Charles Pierce, Franklin Pierce, Francis Pierce, George Pierce, Thomas Lee “Buddy” Pierce, Mary DeBolt, and Mildred Pierce.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 6-8 PM on Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with Pastor Phil Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Hutch Cemetery near Deep Valley, PA.

Nathan, We are so very sorry for your loss! Thinking of you and your family during this time! He sounds like he was a very special Man!
So sorry for the loss of Uncle Russell. I never kept in touch the way I should have but the memories I have of him are wonderful. He was a great uncle to me while I was a kid and those memories I will always cherish. After all is over and you have time to breathe maybe you can take the time to read this comforting thought in Ecclesiastes 9:5,10, I find it to be very reassuring in our time of need.
