PATRICIA ANN DELANEY

          Patricia Ann Butcher Delaney, formerly of Hundred, WV passed away on October 11, 2021.  At the time of her passing, she was residing at the Pleasant Acres Christian Haven in Fairmont, WV.

          She was born January 20, 1931.  Patty was the daughter of the late Arthur (Dick) and Olive Lemasters Butcher.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jack Leon Delaney.

          Patty is survived by her three children:  Kathy (Steve) Cross of Bridgeport, David Delaney of Fairmont, and Robert “Bob” Delaney of Katy.  In addition to her children, she is survived by two granddaughters, their spouses and great-grandchildren; Melodi (Chris) Egress of Fairmont, and their children, Dean, Luca, and Liam; Mandi (Timmy) Martin of Katy and their children, Trey, Tenlea, and Tiegen.

          She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, and good friends.

          In addition to her parents and husband, Patty was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Butcher of Akron, Ohio and Richard Butcher of Shinnston, and a sister, Sandra Cunningham of Bridgeport.

          Patty was a member of the Hundred Church of Christ.  She was employed by the Wetzel County School System as an aide for many years.  She enjoyed working with children and found her work with challenged children particularly rewarding.  She was an avid reader.  She loved to cook and bake.  She was a steadfast wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

          The family would like to thank the staff of Pleasant Acres Christian Haven in Fairmont for their kind and compassionate care.

          Due to Covid concerns all services will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sancho Cemetery near Hundred.

          The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV is in charge of arrangements.
