MARY V. SIMPSON
Mary Virginia Simpson, 85, of Wileyville, WV died Sunday, February 27, 2022 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born November 12, 1936 in Earnshaw, a daughter of the late William Anderson and Clara Carpenter Anderson.
She grew up in the Earnshaw area. She and her late husband Chester “Tom” Simpson made their family home in Mt. Herman where she resided with her two sons, Tommy and Dave prior to her passing.
They had seven children: Kathy (Jim) Hostutler of Knob Fork, Robin (Tony) Wright of Charlestown, WV, Jimmy (Billie) Simpson of Mannington, Peanut (Cindy) Simpson of Morgantown, Tommy Simpson of Mt. Herman, Christina (JT) Shreve of Smithfield, and Dave Simpson of Mt. Herman.
She has 10 grandchildren, Diana Wheeler, Jami Hostutler, Tasha Simpson, Turner Wright, Jo Danna Simpson, Tayla Tallman, Ashley Morgan, Alanna Wright, Jena Wright, and Levi Simpson; also surviving are 16 great-grandchildren, Brandon Wheeler, Bethany Wheeler, Madysen Wheeler, Zack Hostutler, Colt Sandy, Jakob Hostutler, Bently Thomas, Landen Allen, Brynslee Thomas, Creedin Wright, Thad Spry, Jensen Wright, Anchor and Kaspen Simpson, Gracie Tallman, and Adelynn Morgan; and three great-great-grandchildren; Aubry Liverman, Gavin Wheeler, and Lily King.
She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
Granny Gen loved Sunday dinners and reminiscing with her loved ones.
All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the Mt. Herman Cemetery at Knob Fork.
