JANICE HENDERSON
Janice Henderson, 86, of Columbus, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the Gardens of Calvary in Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Henderson was born April 5, 1938 in Littleton, WV, a daughter of the late Robert E. Henderson and Katherine Marie Smith Henderson. She proudly served her country in the United States Air Force. After her service, she worked as a Registrar for Troy University until her retirement. Mrs. Henderson had many hobbies, including reading, crossword puzzles and gardening. She also loved cats. She was a former member of the Summerville United Methodist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Henderson, and a brother, Robert Dale Henderson.
Surviving are three daughters, Melissa Pitts Komitor and husband Dan of Marietta, GA, Christy Gay and husband Russ of Valley, AL, and Sara Nicholson of Phenix City, AL; a sister, Margaret Rose Turner of Mt. Nebo, WV; grandchildren, Johnny Nicholson (Courtney), Alex Komitor (Katie), Katie Nicholson and Sam Komitor; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held on September 9, 2024 at the Rice Ridge Cemetery near Littleton, WV at 11:00 AM with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating.
The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV is in charge of arrangements.
