JOY LINN WHYEL
Joy Linn Whyel entered her heavenly home at 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 24th, 2025, surrounded by her family after a long battle with kidney failure. She was born February 6th, 1950 in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of the late James Paul Huggins Junior and Barbara Jean Huggins. She graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1968. Joy worked as a homemaker and attended Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle where she was active in various ministries. She loved Jesue with her whole heart and served him every day.
Surviving is her husband, William Warren Whyel, who she married on November 23rd, 1968. Also surviving are one son Warren and his wife Sherri of Blacksville, WV and her two daughters, Tracie and her husband, Ted Kiger of Mount Vernon, Ohio and Melinda and her husband Darian Finley of Fishers, Indiana. She was a MeMe to 6 grandchildren, Codi Whyel, Cory and his wife Anna Whyel, Trent and wife Lindsay Kiger, Travis Kiger, Hannah Finley, and Hunter Finley. One great-grandson, Cayde Whyel; three sisters, Reggie and husband Bill McClure, Shirley and husband George Briniger and Judy Blaker. Joy will be tremendously missed by all who knew her, especially her family.
At her request, there will be a celebration of life ceremony at Jakes Run Assembly of God (1383 Jakes Run Road, Fairview, WV 26570) on November 29th, 2025, at 11:00 AM with a meal being served after the service. All are welcome to come and celebrate Joy, as she is now sitting at the feet of Jesus where she has always desired to be.
