Jesse Ray Phillips, 43, of Blacksville, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly in an accident on December 16, 2025. Born on December 28, 1981, in Phillipi, West Virginia and raised in Grafton, Jesse was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose presence left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Jesse carried with him the values of hard work and loyalty throughout his life. Known for his unwavering dedication to those he loved, Jesse was the kind of man who would do anything for anyone—especially his family. His generous spirit and steadfast nature earned him the admiration and respect of many.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Samantha (Rush) Phillips and their children Evie, Jaxon, and Alex. Also his goddaughter Skylar. Jesse also leaves behind his mother, Debra Phillips and her granddaughter Kenzie; his father, Jimmie Phillips; and his siblings, Tammy (Mike) Blake, Cheryl (Tony) Antonini, Krista (Howard) Gaines, Jamie (Michele) Phillips, and Robin Phillips, as well as many other cherished family members.

Jesse found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep appreciation for nature and often sought peace in the outdoors. Music was another passion that brought him comfort and connection. Above all else, Jesse treasured time spent with his family and friends—whether gathered around a meal or sharing laughter during moments at home.

He was preceded in death by Paternal Grandparents Ray and Pansy Phillips as well as Maternal Grandparents George and Mary Gower.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness and devotion. A Memorial Gathering will be held on December 28, 2025, at 01:00 PM at Blacksville United Methodist Church 20 Daybrook Road, Blacksville, West Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made via gofundme or directly to his wife, Samantha to assist with unforeseen expenses.
