RICHARD “DICKIE” RUSH
Richard Wayne Rush, 78, of Fairview, WV passes away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Richard was the son of the late Sonny and Helen Rush.
He graduated from Fairview High School, served in the US Air Force, and drove school bus for Marion County Board of Education for over 20 years. Richard had many other occupations that included moving mobile homes, driving tow truck, and selling horse tack. He enjoyed going to auctions and spending time with his family and friends.
Richard is survived by one brother, James (Vicki) Rush of Virginia; four children: Lisa (Eric) Linz of Maryland, Matthew Rush of Texas, Amber Moore of Fairmont, Angela (Justin) Marietta of Fairmont; and one God daughter Tayler (Austin) Potoczny of North Carolina. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and his best friend John Rush of Fairview.
In addition to his parents Richard is proceeded in death by his first wife, Connie Rush, his second wife, Dolly Rush, his sister, Janice Bland, and daughter, Jodi Self.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, Blacksville, WV from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Blacksville Cemetery.
