Peggy Lynn Bowser Stewart went to meet her Lord and Savior Friday February 20th, accompanied by family at Morgantown Healthcare Center in Morgantown, WV. Peggy was born on May 18, 1947 to the late William and Wilda Bowser. She grew up in Pursglove, WV as part of a coal mining family. She was a homemaker and spent a lot of her life ministering to others through her gift of song. She visited churches, jails and rest homes sharing her love for Jesus and leading others to know Him. She also loved to help others learn about Christ through laughter. If you never saw her alternative personality of Matilda, you truly missed out. She was inspired by Edith Ann to create Matilda with the likeness of Raggedy Ann and used her to reach out to many. She was a lifelong member of Wana United Methodist Church and served there in many outlets. So many were touched by her witness through Wana Youth Group, VBS, Sunday School and the choir. She was an advocate for the youth in her community.

Peggy is survived by her children, Clint (Cathy), Chris (Alberta), and Robin (Chris); her grandchildren Abby, Jessica, and Zach; step-granddaughter, Madison (Adam) and two great-grandchildren Naomi Jane and Oaklyn Rae. Peggy is also survived by her brother Delmas (Annabel), sister Martha (Tom), many nieces, nephews and extended family. Her niece Sandy always held a very special place in her heart, as did some of her dearest friends Mary Ethel, Jerilyn and her best friend on four paws, Kirra Dawn.  Preceding Peggy in death are her husband Roger, brother Larry and sister-in-law Nancy, sister Deloris and brother-in-law Earl, and brother Wade and sister-in-law Betty.

Special thanks to the staff of the Memory Care Unit of Morgantown Healthcare Center and of West Virginia Caring for their assistance and treatment.

Friends and family will gather at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred WV 26575, on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 10 AM until the time of services at 1 PM with Rose Saunders officiating.  She will rest with her dearly loved husband at Olive-Tennant Cemetery.
