Joseph B. Panrell, 86, of Jakes Run passed away at home on January 18, 2017.

He was born in Morgantown to the late Truman H. Panrell and Elvina Mae Dominski Panrell.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Eugene Panrell.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Norma Ruth Wilson Panrell; four children, Kay Tennant and her husband Rod Tennant of Jakes Run, Larry Panrell and his wife Deborah of Jakes Run, Anthony Panrell of Core, and Janice Panrell Tennant and her husband Rodney Tennant also of Jakes Run; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two step-granddaughters and four step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Leona Zachery, Thelma Govedich, and Buela Drake all of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.

Joe worked at Sterling Faucet for sixteen years before entering the mines from which he retired in 1989. He was a long standing member of the UMWA, Local 1702. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking and spending time with his family.

The family would to thank all of the nurses and staff of Morgantown Hospice for their love and care shown to Joe and his family.

Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from6-8 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday with Pastor Rob Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
