Crystal L. Ogden, 93, of Core, WV died March 24, 2016 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born August 10, 1922 at Lumberport, WV, a daughter of the late Paul G. Ogden and Mae Matthew Ogden.
Miss Ogden was a graduate of Lumberport High School, Fairmont State College, and West Virginia University. She taught for 39 years in Wallace and Parkersburg, West Virginia; and the Youngstown City Schools, West Junior High and South High having retired in 1982.
She was a member of Beta Pi Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Youngstown Home Economic Club, Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Wesleyan Circle, Mar-Sing Sunday School Class, Trinity Quilters, National Retired Teachers Association, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, and Mahoning Retired Teachers Association.
Crystal enjoyed bowling, The Elderhostel Program, and Learning in Retirement at Youngstown State University.
Surviving is one sister, Delores Price of Core; one brother and his wife, Ray Ogden and his wife Mary of Huntington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 6-8 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Sherry Rawlings officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
