Lula “Mantie” Barr, 81, of Jakes Run, died Sunday, April 24, 2016 at her residence.
She was born June 16, 1934 at Jakes Run, a daughter of the late Russell Eddy and Gladys Stull Eddy.
Mrs. Barr was a homemaker and she loved gardening. She had been a member of TOPS for many years in the Jakes Run area.
Surviving are one daughter and her husband, Ellen and her husband Harold Sickles of Fairmont; four sons, Johnny Barr of Fairview, Donnie Barr of Fairmont, Ronnie Barr of Fairview, and Lonnie Barr and his wife Frankie of Jakes Run; one sister, Shirley Burnside of Core; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry “Budgie” Barr; one daughter, Connie Barr; and four brothers, Jerry Eddy, Cline Eddy, Dewayne “Scoots” Eddy, and Willard Eddy.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 6-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with Pastor Rob Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Luke Cemetery at Mooresville.
