Nellie Catherine Frazier McCabe, 84, of Blacksville, WV died Monday, August 18, 2014 in the Mapleshire Nursing Home in Morgantown surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 21, 1930 at Charlottesville, VA, a daughter of the late Edgar E. Frazier and Bertha Lee Shifflett Frazier.
Mrs. McCabe worked at Davis-Lynch Glass Factory in Morgantown for many years. She later worked at the Monongalia County Clerk's office where she retired from in 1989.
Nellie enjoyed painting and ceramics, sitting on her front porch, traveling to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports, and making Easter candy for her church.
She was a member of the Jakes Run Assembly of God.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Twyla McCabe of Blacksville; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jay Park of Blacksville; one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Ruby) Donham of Westover; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jeffrey Park and his wife Chrissy, Jill Ammons and her husband Doug, Clint McCabe and his wife Melissa, and Chris McCabe and his wife Keira; and seven great-grandchildren, Brady Ammons, Jalynn Park, Breanna Ammons, Maddox McCabe, Manning McCabe, Crosby McCabe, and Daphne McCabe.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years who died on June 16, 2010, Don McCabe; six brothers, Charlie Frazier, Howard Frazier, Roy Frazier, Guy Frazier, Lawrence Frazier, and George Frazier; two sisters, Essie Garrison and her identical twin sister Nell Frazier.
The family would like to thank Morgantown Hospice and the staff of the Mapleshire Nursing and Rehab Center for their care and compassion shown to Nellie and her family during her stay there.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 6-9 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday with the Pastor Rob Bennett and Rev. Alice Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
